Happens with cameras and other tech gadgets: first production deliveries might be lemons.

Anyone waits intentionally a few weeks or months with ordering the 15, until possible teething issues are ironed out?

Or hardware quality issues should be of no concern with new iPhone rollouts?

It always happens, you can either wait, or you can just exchange it if you get one lemon. Chances are extremely low I would say, but it can always happen.

There are internal quality controls, and if a lemon gets through the process, this is what a warranty is for. Your call if you prefer to wait a few weeks, but I doubt it will serve any purpose

I've gotten launch day phones every year since the original iPhone. Never had a 'lemon'. And other than the somewhat overblown 'antenna gate' of the iPhone 4, _13_ years ago, there hasn't been any kind of first run lemon snafu.

I wouldn't let that dictate the timing of when you make your purchase.

Problem is the phones will not be available after launch for several weeks because they will be sold out. So if you *need* it you can't wait

Lol. There is lemons for everything ever made. Especially Apple products. Pot luck.
Yes, I know that. I am not contesting that obvious fact. I am suggesting that holding off on purchasing until the lemons are removed from the first batch of production is not warranted and amounts to mythical thinking as to standard procedure.

Ok, yeah could get a lemon anytime, more chance though if it’s a new design which I guess the 15 isn’t really. I got the ultra on release and has been top notch.
