Hey guys i have a problem with leopard. After install every time i wanted to import a a scan from my printer it would automatically crash photoshop every time i selected IMPORT SCAN FROM HP 2610 in the the import menu. I am using a HP photosmart 2610 and have photoshop CS3. It worked fine before the install. Any ideas, i have a project i need the scanner for and its killing me. thanks

Not sure about your problem, but the Adobe apps are still buggy under Leopard. Hopefully we'll see an update soon.

Also, try not to make two threads of the same topic in different sub-forums, it just makes things more complicated.:)

I've been having the same problem with InDesign CS3 and Leopard. our mac IT guys came by and temporarily resolved the issue by deleting my indesign preferences. I don't remember where exactly they're located, but after they did that the crashing stopped.

Leopard security update crashed my cs3?

I have a similar problem that just happened. I'm still frustrated as to what happened. I purchased my new imac with leopard already installed. Then I installed adobe cs3 premium. 2 nights ago, I just installed a security update and now none of my cs3 applications open except for dreamweaver! I have never installed any other updates from the "adobe updater" software. Can someone help? This is putting my freelance work way behind! I need to get up and running asap. I've already tried reinstalling the entire suite - NO LUCK. Please point me in the right direction.

The problem is that PhotoShop doesn't seem to ba abe to hanedle the TWAIN drivers at the moment. The best thing I have found to do, is scan the image with the software that came with your printer - if you still have it, or go to the HP website and download the latest version.

Save the scan how and where you like, them open PhotoShop and import/place image.

This is the solution Epson gave to me when I had trouble with PhotoShop and CS3. Silly Adobe, Silly Apple and stupid me for not thinking of it myself.

Try updating your Adobe programs.

10.5.3 fix

10.5.3 contains a very partial fix to a complex crashing problem that occurs most often in InDesign. There are several paths to this crash, and 10.5.3 fixes just one of those paths.

Not all Leopard users experience the problem. The problem is more common on PPC than Intel Macs.

If you're experiencing crashes in InDesign on Leopard, 10.5.3 might reduce (but not eliminate) crashing behavior.

If you're crashing in InDesign's re-link dialog box, there's a workaround posted on my Adobe blog, InDesign Backchannel.

agree

I import using the same method. Use the scanner's software to aquire the image and save it to desktop then open in photoshop and that's worked for me for a while now too.

Yea my CS3 ID was pretty buggy on my PPC G5. But seems to be better after 105.3 update. I couldn't hide ID ever and that pissed the hell outta me. But now I can...joy

My Photoshop CS3 always crashes still, run software update on the CS3 applications and they should fix it eventually.
