I'm curious as I have a Core Duo 2.0GHZ 2GB RAM black macbook and have leopard on pre-order if there will be a noticeable increase in performance/speed with it?

Everything I have seen so far in terms of improved performance seems to mention multiple processor macs(I'm thinking mac pro, xserve). I'm not sure if this includes multiple core processors like core duo and core 2 or not.

Has anyone here tried out any Leopard leopard build on a Core Duo mac and noticed an improvement in speed?

The way they are using it, they mean multicore = multiprocessor. They are pretty much the same thing, except that multicore means 2 or more processors on a processor chip, as opposed to having each processor on a separate chip.

The operating system would see a computer with a single processor with 2 cores and two processors with 1 core each as practically the same thing.

I have been running the beta, and have noticed a decent amount of increase. I'm not sure how much of it is objective and how much is subjective, but things definitely do feel faster. Apps seem to launch faster, and RAM is handled better from what I have observed.

From what I'v heard.
Leopard is going to run much faster on any Intel Mac.
This has been their first OS where Apple had the chance to really sit down and create the OS for Intel machines. And as always with Apple they always optimise their OS.
It will be fine ;)
