Still waiting on my new iMac 20" and can't wait to find every funky thing I can find with the display, but that aside it doesn't ship with Leopard installed, but it is in the box. The question is should or should I not install Leopard at this point? Are there any gotcha's when doing it should I choose to?

This will be my first Mac and I don't want to break it right out of the gate.

Just install it. It's a great program. And you'll never know what you missed in Tiger this way. Enjoy and congrats.

After reading some of the horror stories, I was reluctant to upgrade (or "Erase and Install," in my case) on my iMac G5, but it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Leopard seems really stable so far, and I'm still being wowed by some of its features and functionality. Having said that, though, the firewall GUI has been a major disappointment for me.

My advice? Upgrade to 10.5 as soon as you get the iMac. Once you're there, there's no looking back.
