So, I updated to 3.1. Its buggy, I missed my JB. So, this morning I put my foot down, did some research and downgraded to 3.0.1 and jailbroke and life is much better. Still, downgrading had me biting my nails. I got through it, not sure how but it did work. Now I know......DON'T UPDATE TILL DEV-TEAM SAYS ITS OK!!!

Without having to scour the many threads and posts about downgrading, could you please tell me how you downgraded? I, too, updated my phone to 3.1 (not by choice) and want to go back to 3.01, thanks for any help.

I would if I knew the exact procedure. I tried the alt+restore to 3.0.1 and it was looking like it was going to work then I got an error. I put in DFU mode and after awhile it just seemed to have come and worked. After that I jailbroke like normal.

Remember to specify what kind of device you have.

With iPhone 3Gs, you should be able to put it into DFU mode and just restore to a previous firmware.

In order to be able to downgrade with iPhone 3G's, you need to have your ECID SHSH's on file with Cydia. If you don't, there's no way to downgrade to 3.0.
