Oh my, don't forget to include what OS X version you're running too! (I would post my own results by I'm Mac-less for a couple more weeks)

Here's some interesting results on my iMac 800 17" with 768MB RAM:

53 seconds with just Finder open with a blue background.
50 seconds if I open TextEdit and maximize. I did this so it would have to recreate a white window all the time.

OS X 10.2.8 (2nd release)

Dual 867 MDD
768MB RAM
10.2.8 (can't wait to see how it performs on panther!)
GeForce 4mx 32MB VRAM (I'd expect that it would do a lot better on a faster vid card because of quartz extreme as per the other posts)

Total time to create and dispose 1000 windows: 45 seconds (45127311 microseconds)

PowerMac G4 dual 1.25GHz (2003)
Mac OS X 10.2.7
ATI Radeon 9000
768 MB RAM

Time: 33 seconds

I wonder what it will be with 10.3?

Using my same iMac after a fresh install of Panther:

34 seconds
