Ok, so I've been sifting through these threads for hours and quite frankly it's making my head spin! I have an iPhone 3G with version 2.2 and modem firmware 02.28.00. I just want to jailbreak it so I can change the themes and get different 3rd party apps. Is this possible? and could someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks for your help in advance! :apple:

Just go with the sticky at the top of this forum for starters; depending on whether you have a Mac or a PC, that will also determine if you utilize pwnage or winpwn which is available at many websites by googling: jailbreaking the 3G iPhone... Hope this helps.

Quickpwn it and download iPhone browser. Plug in the phone, use the shortcut on top of the drop down, and rest is really matter of figuring out how to drop and replace.
