letters are gray on iTunes

I updated my software to the IOS 5 and my ringtone didnt work so i tried to put the ringtone back onto my ringtone playlist on iTunes but the letters show up as a transparent grey and doesnt work. My iTunes is on "Manually manage music and video" but it still won't work. PLEASE HELP!
