LG 31MU97 4K Apple approved LCD on Ebay

I have been seeing several NEW sets being sold for as low as USD$1400 on Ebay. Sellers are mostly from South Korea.

It is one of the few wide gamut 4K 31-inch screens out in market right now and they normally retail for close to USD$2000. So wondering if these sets on Ebay are legit?

I have seen several youtube videos and the screen is really awesome when running at native resolution 60Hz.

Any thoughts?

Nope. Am in Singapore and these LG models are not released here yet.

Ah - ok - makes sense. I've been tempted by this one myself - it just sits in my Amazon wishlist taunting me...

Apart from the price, the only other thing holding me back is the applications. I use primarily FCPX, Lightroom and some Motion. Not sure if these are optimized for 4K resolutions yet. I'm still using my 24-inch Eizo Flexscan so if I do upgrade, this will be a major one.

Apple withdrew /removed specific approval for this LG 4k/ monitor a few weeks ago. With no explanation or appology to those who've already purchased. Probably due to all the reported problems.
