LG 49UB8500 4k TV (HDMI 2.0) as monitor for nMP (or rMBP)

LG has two new 4k TVs with HDMI 2.0 (49" and 55"), so it can support 60fps over that input. However, I've been scouring the internet looking for a DP 1.2 (from the nMP/rMBP) to HDMI 2.0 converter with little success. I imagine something like this has to be forthcoming though, right?

I've also read conflicting ideas as to whether a firmware update could allow for hdmi 2.0 support on the nMP/rMBP.

Apple may or may not get all into 4k. Most users aren't gonna want it, and most don't need it, either for a computer monitor or TV. Especially with content and bandwidth issues. Having higher pixel densities/retina on handhelds like phones and tablets made more sense, since you don't have the bandwidth tradeoffs and it works with content now.

But who knows? maybe they have one coming out tomorrow.

I don't think Apple has to be the ones to make it, but yea I guess nothing is guaranteed.

The cMP running with a 7XX series card can push 4K 60Hz over HDMI. It turns out Nvidia has been packing a 600Mhz+ output capable chip since the introduction of this series. The latest drivers in the PC world enabled this feature last week.

AFAIK, AMD cards don't include HDMI hardware of this class.
