Looking to get one of these phones to last me two years.

The G4 (with 128GB micro-SD) costs about £400, whilst the S6 Edge+ 64GB costs £669, and the iPhone 6S Plus 64GB costs £699.

The G4 also has the most storage out of all the devices, however its design language is the worst, and spec wise it is worse than the S6 Edge+. But the S6 Edge+ has a really low amount of quality accessories, and the screen costs nearly £200 to replace if broken (due to the curved display).

I currently own a iPhone 5, so the only benefit of getting the 6S Plus is the ecosystem of iOS, however I hate not having default apps and a proper file system, as well as no widgets :( However, if you guys are able to convince me, I'll end up taking the plunge.

Which phone would you buy, or which other phone would you recommend?

Thank you.

It's pretty difficult for any of us to recommend the new iPhone yet, as we haven't gotten it -- but it should be an even better iPhone 6 Plus, though.

It depends. What are you looking for? Best screen? Best camera? Quality apps and games? Best battery life?...etc. What's most important to you? Each has its tradeoffs.

a better place
I personally detest LG's Android skin and not enamoured by its design but it's price makes up for a lot of that.

S6 Edge + is lovely, but invest in a decent case if your prone to accidents. I've never broke a screen on any of my devices so personally that wouldn't be a consideration for me. If it happens - it happens, but wasn't a buying concern or factor.

IPhone 6S Plus looks to be great but it sounds like you want a change from iOS.

Simply ... Go for what you feel you would prefer. You know you more than we will ever do.

pound for pound the g4 is the best, the others are 50 plus percent more expensive.. and in truth the edge is a better screen and camera, the 6s possibly not.. but both overall are no where near that much better..

S6 edge+ owner here. This phone is the best phone out right now in my opinion. The screen is truly luxurious and the phone is fast. The design is second to none. The camera is very good and the battery life is satisfactory. The UI of the G4 is a deal breaker for me, plus I've become accustomed to Samsung's industry leading smartphone screens. The iPhone feels like a toy OS wise since I don't use many "powerful" third party apps which it admittedly has... but on the more basic level iOS is childish in its limitations, lack of customizability and file system, and overly "mobile" software emphasis which can make Web browsing difficult especially when downloading and managing attachments. My 2¢

Pound for pound right now, the G4 is your best option without a doubt.

However, if you want a phone to last you 2 years? I don't think the G4 is the way forward.

I own it and yes it certainly COULD last you 2 years, but the iPhone 6S Plus will definitely do the job for 2 years easily.

Why not wait a few more weeks to possibly get upcoming LG G4 Pro?
