It's really no surprise no one posted a thread about this phone. LG gets a lot of flack for hardware failures and the past few years had very little design innovation.
I've been bouncing back and forth from LG and Samsung the past few years. I've had the original Note, the G2, S6, V10, V20 and most recently the S8.
I was going to bite the bullet and get the Note 10 (regular) but lamented the lack of a headphone jack and SD slot. I cancelled my preorder and was going to stick with the S8.
The G8 came out this year and has the current top of the line 855 processor. Many thought it was overpriced and didn't have any differentiators from the competitors.
LG's flagship phones always have the greatest headphone amp and DAC year after year. I have a few nice headphones that require a bit of power or a clean signal, or both (Fostex and Monoprice planar magnetics, and Sennheiser 558s). I had to jump on the Labor Day sale where this phone was sub $100 for AT&T users.
I've personally haven't had any issues with any phones I've purchased (Apple, Moto, LG, Nokia, Samsung...) and this looks to be the best built LG yet, though it is a very plain design. Here's to hoping LG keeps their strangle hold on the niche audiophile community.
