Hi
I'm trying to connect my 2nd gen 11" ipad pro to my LG ultrafine 5K monitor.
When I connect the USB-C cable (that was in the monitor box) to the iPad Pro, the monitor remains 'asleep'. When my MBP is connected via the thunderbolt cable though, it works fine. I noticed also that the iPad gets charged via the USB-C cable only when the monitor is 'awake' while connected to the MBP.
Am I missing something here or is the monitor faulty?

Thanks

The 2019 version 27MD5KL has 1 x thunderbolt and 3 x usb-c ports. There are videos on YT where ipad pros work when connected to it.

Also, I figured out what had happened. The USB-C cable has to be plugged into the 'thunderbolt' port of the monitor. I had previously plugged it into one of the other USB-C ports.

Do you have a problem with the 5k lg monitor staying asleep when the iPad is plugged in and locked? The backlight goes on at least once every minute on the monitor then goes black again. It never stops doing that. I had the same issue with my 4K UltraFine as well. When I wasn’t using the iPad anymore I had to unplug it. It‘s really annoying to have to unplug and plug it in every time I want to use it with the monitor.
