Some new leaks

https://www.android-hilfe.de/news/lg-v30-fotos-von-hands-on-session.842464.html#post-10606699

That's like cringe marketing I'm filming you filming the kids. That was definitely not meant to come out. Anyways I returned my S8+ to give the LG V30 a chance for a few reasons.

#1. Quad DAC and 3.5mm Audio jack. As good as Bluetooth audio is it does not compare to the quality 3.5mm can deliver.
#2. P-OLED The V30 will have a plastics display under a Gorilla Glass 5 cover glass so even if you shatter the Display the P-OLED underneath will be safe it will be less expensive and easy to repair. Unlike current OLED displays which are all glass.
#3. Not as Curved as the S8+ which is welcome.

Always thought (hoped) the V30 would have a flat display, but on this picture it looks like an "edgelike" display or at least like a very much rounded 2.5D glass...

Yeah looks 2.5d which is just as much of a pain at getting screen protectors to fit sadly. I do wonder if LG will actually release the V30 globally unlike V10 and V20 which had patchy country / region rollouts.

I guess you are right, here are some other pics...

Really hoping for an European release too as I am very interested in this, as I still use my OP3 and want something new finally.

Do you guys think there’s a good chance the Pixel XL 2 will be based on this phone?

Same rumoured screen size, AMOLED, made by LG etc?

I suspect that image is not fully indicative as it's hard to see the V30 truly only being a fraction taller than the G6.

I crossed off the Pixel XL 2 off my list today bgr.com has Images and it looks like it's has Giant Bezels really poorly designed. And no 3.5mm Audio jack

At least the LG V30 has a Quad DAC which means little But most of my music is on my phones and when I plug into my home speakers system Quad DAC just gives better audio quality.

I see your point. Based on the screen size, G6 is 5.7 inches while the V30 is rumored to be 6 inches. The scale seems more plausible with respect to the s8+ which is 6.2 inches.

Have there been any credible specs released as of yet?
No only guess work but based on pretty credible spec guesswork. (snapdragon 835, 4gb ram, 8mp front camera, Dual 13mp with primary having a 1.3 micron pixels, secondary wide angle lens, quad dac and wireless charging.

Here's where I'm lost on the V series at the moment: what is supposed to be the differentiator with the G series? Is it purely screen size?

Well it was the extra screen on the V10 & V20 and it was also extra software for pro/manual audio and video recording.

Much of the audio recording and video features have arrived on the G6, and the V30 is seemingly losing the extra little screen, so I am baffled myself at this stage as it currently looks to be more of a G6 Pro than a V10/20 successor.

I am sure more info will come to light in the next few weeks before it's announcment.

I love the looks of it, for sure. Only thing that held me back on the G6 was last year's chip and LG's skin. The skin isn't going anywhere but more screen real estate might sell me over the Note 8. I think LG tends to offer better RAM management based on reviews of the G6.

Here's a render and size comparison. Looks like it has slight curves on the side.

Nice, too bad it's hampered by LG's UI. It kind of looks wider than the s8 in the pic, although it's probably an optical illusion and the wallpaper used. I'm hoping against hope that someone comes to their senses and releases at 16:9 bezel-less phone in 2017.

Big difference in ram managment. LG really do a great job in that particular regard.

I had a G3 a few years ago. Hands down one is the best smartphones I've ever owned. The OS annoys me though. Looks too cartoonish.

Definitely not worth the wait over the LG G6 for me. I anticipated 2 extra GB of RAM, an 835 or 836 processor (just an overclocked 835 tbh), and OLED screen. Neither of which is worth an extra $200 if LG performs well with its current LG G6 spec sheet. Now that 4gb RAM is more likely, I gotta consider the LG G6 even more now.

There are several things we don't know atm, the camera with it's rumored 1.6 lens and size of the battery for example.
And the bigger screen would be another advantage over the G6 FOR ME as I like bigger screens.

I like bigger screens too.....what i don't like about LG phones.....and this is just a personal preference mind you, is that they don't have a dedicated display wake lock button. I know they have double tap to wake and the FPS doubles as the display button. But it's not the same as the display button most phone have on the side of the phone.

Yeah this is what I heard through rumours.

Pixel 2 (smaller one) will likely be very similar and built by HTC.

Pixel XL 2 will basically be a Pixel V30 with a different camera set up (single, not dual lens) and no headphone jack.
