Lifetime Memory Ram

Has anyone here heard of or used Lifetime Memory Ram in there Mac's? A local Apple Specialist computer store sells Mac's & use Lifetime Memory ram.
They will install this ram with a purchase of a new Mac mini for free & if installed by There techs the ram has a lifetime warranty. So has anyone used this ram before?

OWC offers a lifetime warranty on its RAM, and you can install it yourself. I'm sure many vendors do, like Crucial.

how much does it cost and what mac mini are you talking about.

the name is a relabel they do not make their own chips. if you own a 2011 or a 2010 mini that rams needs to be under 60 usd to be worth letting them do it. many vendors sell ram for 2010 and 2011 minis for 40 dollars.

2009 or older is harder to put in but 2010 and 2011 is really easy

I have installed more then 100 sticks of the above ram in minis one bad pair 98 and 2 is a good percentage.

Yeah but 139 is highway robbery for ram and you can get the best ie crucial Kingston etc for less than 50 for 8gb. And you don't have to ask us if it is any good because they are name brands!

There is no difference in quality. There's nothing special about RAM that comes with a lifetime warranty. That's a function of the manufacturer's warranty policy, not the quality of the RAM. With few exceptions, you can buy any brand of RAM and it will work fine. You're safer going with a well-known and trusted brand that's been around for a long time, has a good reputation to protect, and is likely to still be around years from now, if you ever need them to honor the warranty.

Upgrading RAM is really easy. You don't need some "Apple Specialist" to install it for you. Save yourself a load of money, and buy the RAM somewhere else, like from Amazon. And install it yourself.

They are just trying to get more money from you really, lol. The free installation might seem good, but in reality, it isn't when the RAM costs a fortune.

Also concerning the lifetime warranty. Maybe I'm just lucky, but over the years I have had 0 RAM go bad on me. And I have 3 PCs and my mini. (also built a few PCs for other people, and their RAM is also fine). And even if the RAM does die on you in a few years time. With the money you'll of saved from buying the RAM yourself, you can afford to buy another set and still have money left over!.

ps. I find RAM usually either works, or it don't. If it works when you first install it, you'll probably end up getting a new mini before the RAM dies. (I think theres software to test out if the RAM is fighting fit, you could look into getting that to make sure the RAM is ok, after installing it).

Yup GSkill is great, I just recently bought 4GB for $14.83 (CAD) and It's been working perfectly..

I have tended to drift toward G.Skill as well. It is the price that matters to me.

I have to say that I have found RAM without a lifetime warranty. Not that it really does matter much but I found it odd.

Lifetime ram ?​

How long does one actually keep a system to justify having ram that is reported to have a lifetime warranty, and pay a bunch more for it over some very good long lasting ram that cost half as much if not less. ? I keep my system two or three yrs or 5 years Max and then I get another system with newer memory.

You do not need this so called lifetime ram as others have mentioned. Just get some well known ram, install same and enjoy the system.

Bottom line, hundreds of Mac Dealers across the country and internationally carry Lifetime Memory because it is extremely high quality and the price is very, very good compared to other brands.
