For all you guys that didn't jump on the monthly paid version, is your Maps module unusable as well?
Just got back from vacation and wanted to geotag the photos taken with my mirrorless, but when I switch to the Maps Module, I just get a white page saying something about a java issue.

After a google search, it seems like Adobe pulled the ability to see your photos on a map from everything but the subscription version of Lightroom.
Did you guys experience the same?

After spending countless of hours adding location information the majority of my photos, I'm really pissed off about this decision from Adobe.
I found a plugin to assign location through google earth, but still haven't found a way to see my photos on a map.
Is there anything out there that can do that? I hate to think of the alternative...

As you must have discovered from your searches, Adobe pays ongoing fees to Google to use the maps, as well as Google's API changes. Hence if your software isn't being actively supported, then no maps.

Did you try Friedl's plugin? If you select an image it can show it's location in Apple Maps, Google Maps, and others. And Geocode, reverse geocode, etc.

And look at Houdah Geo. I use it instead of Lr to add coordinates to images from GPS data. But it can also show already georeferenced images, and can look inside an Lr catalog to find 'em. Drag and drop the images, and then you can reassign their location, reverse geocode, export KML, and other cool stuff. Or start with a GPX file and the raw photos and geotag them inside Houdah Geo.

Thanks for the response.
Yes, I tried the Friedl plugin. That's how I got location added to my Vacation photos.
But I couldn't figure a quick way to show all Photos from a collection on a map.
I'll give this Houdah Geo app a try. But it'll have to be really convincing for $39.

The plugin can only show one location at a time.

A workaround would be to reference the same images in Photos, and use that to view em together. I use Photos as sort of a gallery, not doing much if any organizing or editing there, and then share the albums. All referenced, not managed.
