Well just as I was enjoying my shiny new 2.13 MBA

I started watching some boxee when I noticed a horrible light bleed from top and bottom of the display. it looks like its the led lights and it looks like the screen is tightened too much causing the ligth to bleed out.

look at this screenshot and tell me if I should go to Apple store to have it looked at.

Also I bought this from an Authorized Reseller, will I have any issues going to my local apple store?

This is just my personal opinion, if I buy any computer from Apple, with the prices that these products command, I EXPECT them to be perfect, and if they aren't perfect, I will return them as many times as it takes until they are perfect. You should not have to live with any imperfections with an Apple product, no matter how little or minor it may be.

But that's just my .02, take it or leave it! :p

I agree I am just afraid that I would get a worse display with all the posts I have been reading about on this forum. :)

Does anyone else have similar or worse light bleeds on the sides and edges of their rev c MBA?

nobody else has this going on for their mba?

any thoughts on pressing my luck and trying to get it replaced and potentially getting some worse screen?

Every mac laptop I've owned has slight bleed at the bottom, but I'm surprised you also have bleed at the top.

No, because I no longer own an MBA---but the one I did own had much, much worse bleed than what I see in your photo. It also had uneven backlighting all over the screen, poor colors, and the infamous lines.

You'll do whatever you feel is best, and I do agree that at Apple's prices we should expect them to come as close to perfection as is possible (and that ain't it). That said, if it were me and I got hold of a MBA screen no worse than yours (from what I can see in the photo, anyway), I would count my blessings and move on. And I hate to admit it, but that's because Apple's poor quality control over the last several years has forced me to choose between lowering my standards for the brand or abandoning the brand altogether. Given the alternatives, I choose the former.

yeah I havent seen anything else wrong with it. so I may just keep it, annoys me though because not like this is a cheap dell

Yeah, it's a cheap Mac instead.

Cheaply made maybe. Cheap price? hardly I would not consider a 1799 retail machine cheap. Especially one with the specs this has.

I bought a dell tablet once for 600 bucks. It had slight light bleed...but it was 600 dollars.

How often do you have a black background like that and see the bleeding? If you don't have lines, I say keep it. Mine doesn't have the light bleed, but I have seen some terrible displays out there. A good display is one that looks good for normal viewing. If you normally have a black background, and have to look at that all the time, get it replaced.

Good luck.

Yeah to be honest, I dont have it most of the time. Just annoying to have it look like that you know but I can deal with it. Display looks fine otherwise. (To me, I really cant see those lines)

Nothing is worse than having a defect that you know is there. I had a 15" MBP that had pretty bad light bleed. Since I used it for movies it drove me nuts, but even when I didn't have a black background up I knew it was there...taunting me.

I'd say if you care enough about it to post, then you may want to try and get it replaced. I really haven't seen very many Airs with light bleed.

i got exatly the same lightbleed and just shipped back my 2.13. hope the replacment doesent have it.

it drow me nuts when wathing a movie.

I got mine replaced and guess what it still has lightbleed :)

honestly I am not sure replacing will help much.

I have a MBP 17 that doesnt have it which tells me it may be the display manufacturer that causes it so you just get another replaced by the same build so its the same. or wosre.
