I have a lightening to 30 pin adaptor cable I use in my car to play music directly from my iPhone. Today it suddenly stopped working. I can only play music through the phone itself by the weird thing is that when Hooke up it still charges and I can use my steering wheel control to change the switch songs on Spotify. I recently upgrade to the latest version of iOS 1(12.1.4) and am curious if that is causing the issue. I’m trying to find someone that has a later version of iOS to test this out but waiting on finding someone who hasn’t updated yet

Anyone know if this is an issue with the iOS update? Never had this issue in any previous updates and cable had been playing my music through see stereo for 6 months since I bought this cable. It is an authorized cable directly from Apple so confused what is going on here...

Appreciate the help!

I think I have seen 3 different posts of people asking the same question.

It looks like maybe the iOS update may have disabled the ability to use the adapter.

If it is true, I wonder if it is a bug or accident, or working as intended. Hopefully the former because I hate the idea of Apple not supporting stuff like this, especially without a warning.

So I tried it with my dads iPhone X and my moms iphone 7, and both worked. The X has the same iOS as me and the 7 has older software

So I’m assuming there is something up with my iPhone? I didn’t change any settings so anything I can try here to fix this?
