Other Lighting port pins down

My lighting port pins no longer pop up the are all in the down position so I have to push up on the lighting connector to charge. Please help!

Same with one of mine on my iPhone 6. There's no fix that I've ever heard of short of a $349 charge port replacement.
I use a rubber band wrapped under the cord at the port and stretch it up and over the phone to tension the plug in the port. Parts of the rubber band obscure the screen so ivegot to dodge around it if plugged in and using it
