Hi all,

I'll keep this brief but i'm looking to upgrade from my 6 to a 7/8/X but want to continue using my wired headphones. I use them a lot whilst walking around so really could do with having use of the music controls (volume, skip etc). Not being able to use the mic isn't a problem.

I'm struggling to find a lightning adaptor that can support this. Is it even possible?

Any help much appreciated!!
thanks

Apple's headphones and the microphone and controls on them work fine with the lightning adapter that is provided by Apple with the phone.

Thanks, but i'm using third party wired headphones. Some aiaiai TMA-2s specifically?

If your wired headphones work properly with the 6, they'll work fine using the lightning adapter that comes with the 7 and newer.

I'm using the adapter with both a Shure SE215 (with Apple accessory cable) and a 1More, both purchased long before my 7 Plus. (I bought a second adapter, and leave them permanently attached to each headset, for convenience.)

P.S. The C06 cable for your headphones + the Apple lightning adapter should give you full music controls plus a microphone.

I also see many manufacturers of headphones with detachable cables adding cables with lightning terminations.

Thanks jetsam that's awesome. I have the C06 currently so very happy music controls will work...nothing more annoying than volume jumps from songs shuffling and having to reach into your pocket!

appreciate the advice.

There is no lightning adapter provided with the iPhone 8/8+, X. It's a separate buy.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was obviously wrong. Seriously can't remember that an adapter came with my 8+. Gonna check out the box later. LOL
