This may be a fantasy-land request but here it goes.

Is there a pigtail or something that allows an iPad to be charged via wall outlet, yet still be plugged into a computer for data transfer?

I ask because I'm enjoying using the iPad Pro as a second screen (via duet) for my laptop but it doesn't appear the laptop's USB port supplies enough power to charge/maintain the iPad's battery at the same time.

You could use an app to wirelessly extend your laptop screen to your iPad and charge it from the wall.
I'm not sure there's a solution using cables

There are some 3rd party charging stations that allow data pass through while charging your device. Not sure if the output rating tho. I remember seeing a few pop up in Kickstarter a while back. Check Amazon?

I have a lightning adapter with VGA & Lightning ports on the other end (from Apple) which allows the screen image to be displayed on a montor/projector while charging, so I'm sure it technically is possible.
