Lightroom catalog in Time Capsule?

Hello all,

My Macbook pro is running out of space.. I was thinking about buying a Time Capsule and starting to add my photos there so that I could access them in Lightroom and edit them at any time from the Internet.

Question is, is it possible to access my photos and the catalog in Lightroom outside of my home network stored in a Time Capsule? How would editing Raw images across the internet behave?

Help much appreciated
 
Time Capsule is a combo of ethernet router, wifi base station, host of a USB port (for printers or HD), and the home of internal HD designed for use at the target drive for Time Machine backups. If you partition the drive and put data on it, where is that data being backed up to? It would be pointless to have data on one part ion and the backup on another partition of the same drive.

Drivers are dirt cheap. Get a USB3 or Thunderbolt drive as you library drive. Keep all your photos, movies, documents, and music folders there. Use a separate larger drive (in Time Capsule or elsewhere) as the target drive for Time Machine backups of both your Macbook internal drive and the library drive.

I have over 10,000 raw images in my LR library. The referenced raw files are on my external library drive. My LR catalog is on the rMBP's SSD. The LR catalog backup is on the library drive. Both drives are backed up to a 6TB HD.

I don't care about backup part of it. I do back up my stuff on another HD.

The point of the Time capsule would be to set up so that I can access my photos and edit them from work... just as another hard drive connected to my computer because I can't fit them all in my macbook..

Maybe I can do that in a cheaper way.. buy a regual HD and a router with an USB port and make that drive something like a cloud storage.

I think you would be better off with an airport extreme with a HDD attached or a Time Capsule with an HDD attached or just a regular NAS.
