Lightroom crashes or hangs trying to connect any of my Canon camera's (10D never tried before, 350D recognized at some point but stalls Lightroom, 60D and 6D not found) on Mac Mini M2Pro and Air M1 with Sequoia. Last time I used tethering was on Big Sur on 2015 i7 Macbook Pro and 60D/6D so I don't know it has to do with M-series and or later MacOs versions. Anyone else?

I've just tried tether with a Nikon Z6ii on a MacBook Pro M1, Sequoia, Lightroom Classic 13.5.1 and it worked. Slow, but worked. Lightroom did ask to switch to Rosetta 2 mode before it would start to tether.

Tried Rosetta-mode also, still endless searching for camera’s. Same configuration but Canon 6D …

sorry I can't be of more help. Apart from a different cable, maybe time to look at a different software tether package. Maybe Canon EOS Utility?

I can’t find the reference at the moment, unfortunately, but apparently there may be issues with the current version of Lr and tethering with Sequoia, at least for certain cameras. Adobe hasn’t certified their products with the new OS and my understanding is that they’re supposed to do that as part of a release next month. I’ll see if I can find the reference.

I did found out Canon Eos Utility is far more capable for tethering then Lightroom ever was. Includes Live View and a lot more control! + Automatic import from a watched folder in Lightroom: best of two world’s! It’s still strange Lightroom on Windows immediately recognizes all my cameras in tethering …

Import from camera works flawlessly … so that’s not the problem.
Importing from the camera and tethering—i.e., controlling the camera from your chosen application like Lr—are different functions. The former sees your camera as a disk or card, allowing you to move images over with picture transfer protocol (PTP). It's perfectly reasonable that PTP works and tethering doesn't since the underlying OS functions differ.
