"Limit Ad Tracking" setting was reset by iOS 10

Hey everyone,

Just a heads up for those of you who prefer to limit ad tracking. iOS 10 reset this feature back to "off" for me at some point. I don't know which build reset it or if the current build is still resetting it or not, but if it's a setting that you prefer to have on, you may want to double-check your device's settings. I have always had the feature turned on, as I try to limit the collection of my personal information as much as possible. All updates have been OTA for me and I have not reset my iPhone or installed iOS as new or anything like that, so I'm not sure why this setting was changed or if it was intentional by Apple or not. I started using iOS 10 as my daily driver starting with Developer Preview 3, so it very well may have been a bug from then that has since been corrected--I'm not sure as I have not checked this setting in quite some time, but I'll be keeling a better eye on it from now on. Sorry if this is already a known issue...I don't remember reading anything about it, so I just wanted to share for those who are paranoid with their privacy settings like me.

Strange. I just checked mine. Showed a spin wheel, then the toggle(which was still on). Makes me think its iCloud based. Not sure why yours was toggled off. You should submit that through feedback.

Thanks for the response. Weird, you're right--mine does take a few seconds of wheel-spinning to populate the toggle as well, which I do not remember occurring in iOS 9 or below. Maybe they did make it iCloud-based now like you said, and it's synching the setting with one of my other devices. I will submit a new feedback report.

Sometimes an installation of an update will do something like that. I generally end up checking a few settings here and there to make sure they are as I want them to be.

I guess that's the case, too. I just found another setting that has changed and I'm positive I did not change it. I had the "location status bar icon for system services" enabled (the setting is burried deep within the location services settings) and that has been turned off. So strange. We shouldn't have to go through our settings after each update but I guess I'll have to do that from now on just to double check. Thanks for the response.

Oh really? Interesting, I don't remember that, but I guess I probably didn't really go in and check the setting often enough to see it either. I remember settings like caller ID/call forward (carrier based) doing that, as well as iCloud settings.
