A friend of mine was going to get in line tomorrow morning. I was going to show up about noon and wait for a few hours while he picks up his kid. Then we will both wait on/off until 6 PM and then each buy an iPhone. Is this OK that the two of us are sharing the wait time in line to each buy an iPhone ? I can't believe that a single person could wait like 10+ hours in line, I mean thats 3-4 bathroom breaks for me, and 2 meals.

45 min max. I have waited overnight for xbox 360 and ps3 and camped overnight for both over 12 hours each. No food no bathroom. Yes im human

Just pay the first guy a few hundred so you can "cut" them. ;)

Seriously though, I don't think letting a friend hold your place will be any problem as long as they aren't buying one and they leave right away when you get back so nobody gets suspicious. We're all human.

Now, if the stores give wrist bands that might be a another issue all together.

As long as you're only getting one phone each this should be ok. It's not cool for you to share one sport and then get your max (2 each).

hell yeah id beat the **** out of someone if they held the spot for like 6 ppl and i ended up not getting mine after sitting there all day.

I hear tell there's going to be a color-coded wristband system that will keep things civil.

That worked well for the IKEA opening I attended recently. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you sit in your car but your folding chair is in line, is that cool?

i had two people do this to me while i was waiting in line for a wii. The temperature was in the high 20s, the wind was blowing like no other... it was insanely cold... and they sat in their car from like 3 - 7 AM while everyone else was waiting in line. it kinda pissed everyone off...
