I used or tried robust my 11.6 MBA to record audio in from a mixer. The cable I used is pictured below. However I never saw an option to switch from the built in mic to line in. I've used this same cable on my MacBook pro 13. Does the MBA 11.6 simply not have this option? Thx.

I thought the MacBook Air had a microphone in. I know that iPhone headsets (the white wired ones you get with every iPhone) can be used for skype, etc. on MacBooks.

Maybe there's some kind of adapter to use a microphone or line in?

Its possible by using e.g. the IKMultimedia iRig. Probably only 16 bit recording, and mono. But works.
