I know I made a thread, but I don't want to revive a dead thread. But I actually got the iMac today. Its pretty nice, except for the lines. They don't appear on screenshots. i have not tried an external display yet though. The lines only appear on the actual screen. Not in screenshots. I'm confident its the LDC screen or inverter thats the issue. But I attached some images and heres a link to the video showing the issues.

I have a Genius Bar appt tomorrow at 10:45Am EST. This iMac is out of warranty, so I doubt they will help, but it doesn't hurt.

Well. I was bored and took it apart. I cleaned the heatsinks and fans really good. I broke a cable in the process. Thankfuly the cable connects the iSight, mic, and IR Sensor. Nothing major. This was on Sunday. On Monday I brought it to the Apple Store. (I go there a lot, and know the manager very well. And she knows me well too, and so do a lot of the emplyees) I told them the problem and even though the warranty expired in 2007, it's elgible for a new screen. We tested the iMac with an adapter to make sure it was the LCD and not the GPU.

They ordered a new screen, and I should be gettin a call to bring my iMac in tomorrrow. I told the Genius and manager that I took it apart and broke the cable, an the EMI shield is a little bit damaged. They both said not to worry. Even though I MESSED up a cable, they will put in a new screen as the cable and screen have nothing to do with each other. So now I pretty much will have a nice working iMac in a few days. I will keep you all updated.

Sorry for the bad spelling... I typed this on my iPod touch.
