Hi. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Anyway, every so often (actually very often) in the past week or so I will notice that one of the Apps in my dock have the name posted above them, like when you would move the cursor over it. Here is an example. (This isn't mine, I'll try and get a screen shot next time it happens)

That text that says iPhoto (for example) will stay there for about 10 minutes to a few hours. It also might jump around through different apps, even without my cursor being there. I also noticed that now WHEN I hold my cursor over one of the apps in the dock, nothing happens. The text never appears. Just when I thought I better take a screen shot so I can post it here, it went away. It seems to come and go every so often. I've also noticed just over all sluggish performance, not that it would be like lightning fast to begin with but a definate decrease. My computer is a Mac Mini Core Solo running 10.4.7. This is rapidly becoming very frustrating. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it. If I can't get it fixed on here, I'm going to call Apple. I'm 99% sure it isn't a setting change as it comes and goes and it randomly switches between its favorite apps. Ok, this is getting long. Any help appreciated!

Thanks! Kevin

No help here, but it definitely happens to me sometimes. I get the lingering text more often now that my dock is on the left side of the screen. I assumed it had to do with using OnyX to change my dock placement - do you use any 3rd party programs to do that?

Nope. I don't have any 3rd party software like that at all. By the way, why wouldn't you just use System Prefs to move the dock? Did you move it to a weird place or something? Sorry, just curious.;)

I moved it to the bottom-left side of my screen, rather than centered-left (only option through System Prefs). I did this because I kept pulling up the dock when I wanted to close a window.

Ok, I came back from my screensaver 10 minutes ago and it happened again. I rushed to capture the screen and I got it! I noticed every 3 seconds this time is cycled through like 6 apps. Oh, my computer shuts it self off every night so yes, it does shut down. I will try clearing the cache and so on and let you know. A screen shot is attached.
