Hi All,

Over time, people have asked about the link bracelet. Its one of the more expensive options, and so people want to know as much about it as possible. Thought it would be interesting to show how mine looks after one month. Other owners are welcome to chime in as well.

I haven’t worn the band everyday and I’ve not exercised with it or anything.

The scratches are primarily where I’ve rested my wrist. You see I had to hold the watch a certain way, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see them. They’re pretty non-offending.

It’s brushed steel so what did you expect exactly? You can scratch („polish“) it with your fingernail so any harder surface could do more harm to it.

As much as the link bracelet is a piece of ingenuity, it’s just your standard 316 L ‘brushed’ stainless. There’s nothing special about that metal, when it’s also the standard metal used on cheap Timex watches. But, you can restore some of that metal back to its original form, aside from gouges/dings into the stainless itself.

But like anything stainless, it’s a vicious cycle to try to prevent something from scratching when it’s worn on your wrist, respectively when you’re constantly knocking into things inadvertently.

Thanks for sharing the images OP. I own the black one since 2015 and it wears in a similar way.

Your black one got scratched? Wow

It’s less big scratches but more the colour wearing off after a while. It first started at the links near the closing mechanism - where you’d rest the wrist on a table or other surface.

At the end of the day I accepted that it will sooner or later have more and more naked metal show up. It’s common wear & tear with painted surfaces at some stage.

Still a very comfortable band to wear every day, really like it.

I use the rough green side of a standard sponge or scotch bright pad and polish mine once a month. Remember to go in the direction of the original brushed finish. Looks new every time And mine is over a year old!

You can bring it back to new with a light brush with a scotchbrite pad.

Green pads work best. I’ve used them on my link bracelet. Small strokes in the direction of the ‘brushed’ finish will get rid of any shallow scratches. Mine turned out new but I’ve a lot of experience brushing/polishing metal.
