Okay, I know nothing about wen design or anything related, so I may not be using all of the right terms, but here goes. I sell shirts and posters that I screen print on etsy.com. However, I would like to actually set up my own 'real' online store, and bigcartel.com has a system to let you do this, where the are much more customizable than my etsy page. The only thing is, your URL will be storename.bigcartel.com. Is there a way to get the domain name I own (stickhousepress.com) to, when entered, go to stickhousepress.bigcartel.com? This way I can just advertise the shorter URL, but it will go to the other...

Yes you can. You do this through who you registered the domain with. In your case, godaddy.com. Log into your account and go to manage your domains. Chose the domain from the list and there should be an option to set up forwarding. Put in the address you want it to redirect to and I think you should be done.
