link to google - no W3C validation

iv'e got a link to google maps to help get directions but for some reason the link invalidates the xhtml?

is there anyway i can stop this or is there some other way i should be writing the link.

It's failing because URL parameters should be separated by & not &

Is that under your control? If so, just change the google link to use &, i.e.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...&ll=52.490844,-0.973483&spn=0.121664,0.488548
