Hi all I'm,looking at buying a mini mac and I would imagine this has been covered already but I'm wondering if you can hook the mac straight up to a TV out of the box via the hdmi or do you need to set this machine up using a standard monitor first..cheers all....

No problem, no need for a "standard" monitor. :) The Mini will be just fine connecting to an HDMI TV right out of the box, no configuration necessary.

You will need to provide your own HDMI cable though. :)

There might be a setting needed on the TV if it doesn't figure out it's connected to a computer. It might cut off the outer part of the image (overscan). Depends on the TV, probably not an issue with most. But some have different defaults depending on which HDMI port you use.
