Hi new member here. I bought a 16gb iPad a little over two weeks ago and love it. But the problem I'm having with this iPad is that I can spot a piece of lint under the glass screen and it is annoying me. IMO it's just as bad as dead pixels. I just discovered this just now while cleaning the screen for the first time.

Do you think the Apple store will exchange my ipad for another? Am I allowed to do so after 14 days of ownership?

You are lucky to buy an Apple product. And yes, you can exchange it even after the 14 day return period.

that has happened with my 1st gen iphone & the 3GS, some dust always seems to sneak under the glass...altho it will be interesting to see if they do replace it tho, do let us know ur results :)

You should be able to exchange it anytime within the 1 year warranty period. If you wait longer they may exchange it with refurb units since they'll start getting more refurbs.

@stahscream: I had my screen on my iPhone 3GS replaced due to dust after ~4 months

Will do. I'm heading to the Apple Store today to find out.

EDIT: Thanks for the tip doboy.

This happened to my iPod touch I got for Christmas. I took it by the Genius Bar and left with a new one. They are great about these things, and you'll be in good hands.

I went through 4 iPads before I got one that appears to be flawless (at least to my eyes). Of the 4, one was definitely dust under the screen, two were dead/stuck pixels, and the other one i'm not sure, it had these visible dots in the glass that you could see on or off and would not go away when rubbed.

The Apple store thought it was weird that I was having issues. They claimed to only have had 5 returns since launch.

If it's possible (ie. Within driving distance) go to the Apple store. Phone support is ok, but 3 day turn around and if you get another bad unit you have to do it all over again. If you go to the store, inspect if before you leave. It might sound a bit anal, but after the second and third bad screen you go looking for issues. I used their wifi and loaded a dead pixel test site, looked at the screen from multiple colors and angles until I was satisfied. I was polite and the Apple employees were understanding, they wanted to make sure I left happy especially since my drive back was over an hour.

Just got back from the Apple Store with a brand new replacement. They checked and confirmed the issue and I was in and out there in 10 minutes. Thank You Apple. :)
