After 5 years with a Core Duo Blackbook I'm upgrading to the 2.7 GHz i7 MBP. I'm getting it BTO and then will swap out the optical drive for an SSD (intended for just the OS). Also from what I understand Lion will offer FileVault2 full-disc encryption. Some questions:

First, is it recommended (possible?) for my Lion SSD to be partitioned using Bootcamp to also run Windows 7? Or would it be better to do that on the 500 GB HDD?

I imagine if I would like the Windows 7 partition to be encrypted I would then have to apply it on the Windows side; setting it up on Lion would have no effect on Windows 7, correct?

Finally, what about the supposed partition that is created when setting up Find My Mac? I definitely want to take advantage of that, but it sounds like it could get complicated when you're bringing these things into the picture..

Thanks, all.

You can set it up on both. What you do is up to you, though. You get the benefits of having it Windows 7 on an SSD if you do that, though.

EDIT: I believe FV2 can encrypt entire drives. Well, that's what the site says. Drive usually means entire disc. Dunno how that works for Boot Camp'd systems, though I would assume that is included somehow.

Don't know the last one. :<
