Hi all,

I have one of the earliest Alu iMacs, 20" screen, comes up as iMac7,1.

I can't seem to get DP2 (or DP1 for that matter) to install. It runs through, but stalls on "Installing." I get the mountain backdrop, the drives seem to run for a bit, then I simply have to shut off the computer to get back home.

Any suggestions? I do know that the EFI on this machine won't let me boot into 64-bit, but other than that, I'm lost. I would have thought that it wouldn't let me go through the install if the computer wasn't supported.

So far, an exercise in frustration!

Thanks!

anyone?

Any help appreciated-I've tried installing multiple times without success so far-gets to the "Installing" screen with the progress bar, but stalls there forever (even overnight).

Thanks!

If you have a legitimate copy of the software (not trying to imply anything here), you should be asking this on the Apple developer support forums - anything support related could possibly be a violation of Apple's NDA's (which you have to agree to).

If you have a developer account, you should be able to get into the necessary support areas without problems, but that about the only place that you can talk about lion without violating your agreement with Apple. I would provide you a link, but I am not a member of the lion beta (I do have access to the general developer area and that's it for me..)

Here is a link to the forums, https://devforums.apple.com, login with your Apple ID.

Contact apple via the developer.apple.com link or wait till apple officially releases the OS to the public.

Lack of legitimate credentials to access it?

No, my credentials are correct, however I *cannot* disclose my suspicions due to a prior contractual agreement. I'll know in a week or so if my theory is correct (it doesn't affect me all that much anyway). That's all I feel comfortable disclosing.

I wish I could say more, but I just cannot.
