Lion on MBA 2011

I just installed lion on my macbook air 2010 (titles wrong sorry) and I'm wondering if anyone else had and experienced the fans spinning up quite often on normal tasks? Besides that lions been pretty good on the MacBook air.

Ps. I have the baseline 13inch.

Yes it does, i have the baseline 2gRam, 256HD; and to runs at higher temps. on Lion. It does consumes more Ram, almost the 2g on daily task like safari and itunes.

Ps. I'm considering selling and getting the Ultimate.

Well this is a developers preview, so there might be some bugs.

Hopefully the gold version doesn't run at those higher temperatures.

Hmm, doesn't sound too promising to the 11". I am having a basic one but with 128 SSD. I am amazed by the amount of tasks it can handle without any lag and I am more than happy with Snow Leopard for the daily tasks. Wonder if it will be as now with Lion .. I have some doubt.

Hmm, perhaps it is buggy. Its not suppose to run fine. It shouldn't be used as your main OS right now.

I don't. I have my SSD partitioned for 100gb snow leopard and 28gb lion.

Well, I'm going to buy a 11" base MBA (2GB 64SSD) tomorrow...

I'm a completely new mac user. From your previous experiences, is it possible that the final version of the OS uses LESS RAM than it is using now?

Just asking that because as I'm in Brazil, prices are waaaaaay too high here, not even mentioning the delivery time for CTO versions (4GB only through apple store), and I can't really wait on it, and well, the 4GB are just too expensive here (almost USD 400 more...).

Go for it! I just got the base 11" 2 days ago myself and whatever I throw at it, I couldn't top off the 2 gigs RAM. This is based of course on my own usage, and that's with editing on Final Cut Express, Mail, Safari, iCal, Excel on at the same time.

Preview builds are buggy and I'm sure Apple will work out the kinks before releasing Lion (much like Snow Leopard). The MBA's architecture is different that's why 2 gigs of RAM and the combination of an SSD works really well to speed things up. I am still a believer in "more RAM is better", specially for people who need it (say, for virtualization), and if you have a conventional hard drive, extra RAM do help. But with the MBA, it seems to be a different story. Just look at reviews of the base 11" everywhere on the net.

Yea they won't forget us! I also don't think that they would promote Lion on the MBA on their website if it cant handle it.

its the first Developer release and far from an optimized version so drawing any conclusions at this point would be foolish. I have no doubt the final version will run just fine.

It's a beta. It's not a final release. It is even in Beta 1. Wait for more details or go get a job at apple.
