Dear Forum

Does anyone know if the lion server purchase will be available on all authorized macs like Lion client?
Or will I only be able to install it on 1 client OS each purchase?

Of course I wont need two servers, but my server hardware configuration wont arrive for a few weeks - so I wondered if I could just check out the GUI for the Lion Server on a personal mac in the waittime.

Thanks!

MacOS X Server has never been restricted to a particular hardware configuration. Lion Server should be no different.

I was asking on the licenses, sorry for jabbing on about other stuff.

Can I buy Lion server 1 time in the app store and install on additional macs like with the client OS?

You may virtualize multiple licenses on one machine, but you must use at least one license for each computer.

That is the commercial clause of the Mac App Store. Any Mac App store app would be tied to a computer if mutliple users are going to access it in a commercial setting.

For personal use, if still under the general Mac App Store rules, you can copy it to all of the computers you control ("own" and have tied to your AppleID). Not sure why many homes need several Mac OS X Servers so Apple is probably OK with that. :)
