I am very interested in multiplayer games. I think it adds a very fun element to a game. I am interested in both local multiplayer (wifi/bluetooth with another iphone/touch) or remote multiplayer (via an internet connection). If you know of any, please list them here :)

Both require a wifi network?...

I think both of those games require a wifi network. Are there any that can connect 2 (or more) phones via an ad-hoc network or bluetooth. For example, the only time I could see myself playing texas hold em on my iphone would be on a long car-trip or something. If my buddy had an iphone, we could connect and play. Otherwise, I'll just use real cards. But I don't know too many people with a wifi network setup in their cars.
I suppose it's possible, but it would be a bit cumbersome. Anyway, you get the point.

I guess internet play would be one solution. But then you need a server typically. Also, if you were on a hypothetical car-trip, you might be going in and out of service. Thus, losing edge or 3G connectivity and killing your game. Ad-hoc would be a really nice solution. Especially for two-player only games like chess or checkers.
