Hello
I am listening to YouTube very often when I am walking and using headset . I am not interested in video part of episode. When I lock my iPhone playback stops hence it takes a lot of resources..
My question: how could I trick my phone/YouTube to continue play when I close my phone?
I am using iPhone X latest OS version

Thanks

You can’t trick your phone. The only way to keep YouTube playing while the app is minimized or your phone is locked is to sign up for YouTube Premium.

There's an app called YouTube on Repeat that will do what you want (ie audio only, no video and screen can be switched off).

Thanks for your advice but could you please explain what you meant?
What’s the name of the app that I have to download?
I am still a little bit confused

I heard there is an app named Jasmine a free YouTube app for ios system. With that you should be able to lock your phone while listening to the music on YouTube.

  1. copy the url of the youtube video
  2. Open up the documents app
  3. Tap the safari icon in the right bottom corner
  4. visit this website: https://y2mate.com/
  5. paste the url of the youtube video
You are now able to download the youtube video in different formats, including audio options.

Enjoy ;)

I found solution!
I installed ‘mini opera’ browser and it does the job
Thanks for suggestions anyway

I could not find “Mini opera” but did install the opera browser. When I try playing a YouTube video, it opens up the YouTube app and I’m back to square one. Is there a setting to let it play in the browser that I’m not seeing?
