I have a new Macbook and I want to yank out the old and put in some bigger chips. It says in the manual that you'll hear a click when you insert them correctly. Is this a loud click that you'll definitely notice when you push with your two fingers? I can't tell. I've installed memory many of times but not sure on this one.

I just did the same on my macbook. When you insert the chips, it's more of a feeling than a sound. I knew they were in when they felt like they snapped in. It was a nice solid , click, for lack of a better word. That was just my experience. It went pretty smooth, but you do have to push pretty hard. How much you puttin' in? I did 2gigs, and the book is demon. I hope you like the book, it's a good machine.
heres my advice to you. if you are replacing onl 1 stick, this wont matter. if you are replacing both, take just one stick out and put the new one in. match the new one up in the slot with the old one so you know its in al the way, you can tell like that. then install the next one. thats hwo i ddi it and it workd out for me
