Literally been backing up for 3 hours

After downloading iOS 5 it has been backing up my phone for no joke 3 hours. Give up and try again or keep it going?

I really don't see what the problem is. I plugged in about 3 hours ago and IOS5 downloaded in 14 minutes and finished updating my iphone within an hour.

When was the last time you did a complete backup of your iPhone? If you haven't done one in a while it will be a long, painful few hours.

I'm at the "Backing up "iPhone"" loading bar which doesn't seem like it's moving

I'm going through the same thing. Backed mine up last night, trying to eliminate this problem. Downloaded file in 4 hours. Now backing up for the last 20 mins.

I've been dealing with this problem for 6 hours! I just backed up. It never gets past the backup phase. Any ideas?

7 minutes to download and two hours so far to install on final sync now. I think.
