live broadcasts are the same as when I left them when I change channel and return later ?

Hi I have several sports programs I watch at the same time but when I go back to a channel it is still the same as when I left it is there something I must turn off to stop this

Hi HdFan I am using an Apple TV 4K and the actual app is Discovery+
As far as I can tell this is the only app that it happens with!
Even after unplugging the APTV and television from the grid for one minute it still goes back to where I left it.
Even using the app on my iPhone 14 takes me to the place I left of watching on the tv!!
So I assume it is not the APTV but the app

Sounds like it. Have you contacted the app developer?

No, I have looked at there surport page and faq, and looked on the net no others seem to be having this problem so I have canceled the subscription can't be bothered with it

Hey Chris, I have that happen with a couple of my live sports apps but i think its a feature not a bug. At least on my apps. I leave a baseball game and it will pause where I left off. I now have two options. continue watching where I was or just manually moving the slider all the way to the right back to the live action. It is the version of DVRs live TV pause button.

I usually fastforward to live action but if I just need to get a drink, I like the ability to not miss any action.

Maybe yours actually doesn't allow that which would definitely seem to be an app problem. Maybe delete and reinstall app? With the tennischannel app every couple months it gets so stuck I have to delete and reinstall

Thank you phillyman it was Wimbledon I was watching on Discovery+ att the same time watching golf Scottish open in another app Viasat play, there was no problem it was as you said I could chose to start on or watch live not so with tennis

I see this same behaviour with the Olympics on discovery plus. A workaround I’ve found is to choose watch from start and then go to the live button and press that. It’s a weird one and don’t think it’s be design - live should mean live.
