So earlier today I went to use the music app for the first time on the new phone, and I accidentally exited out of some notification that popped up that had info about live lyrics. Thinking nothing of it at first until I noticed later that the button for live lyrics is permanently grayed out and I cannot find anyway to turn it on/back on.

There has got to be a way to get it back? I’m totally stumped, not sure why Apple has made this so confusing.

Where do you see the option for live lyrics? I see an option for full lyrics but not live. I’m an Apple Music subscriber.

This is the button:

Depending on the song, there are also sometimes just the normal lyrics and no live lyrics.

Ehh, lame, maybe. But it's also another incentive to subscribe to Apple Music. ;)

Yea although I don’t remember another big feature of a iOS update that was restricted to a paid subscription like this. Seems like a big deal was made about this feature, not sure how I missed that it was only for Apple Music subscribers? It worked for me this summer when I was on the beta, Apple needs to stop pinching pennies.

Welcome to owning an iPhone.

For those who syncs music from iTunes library to iPhone, lyrics button works as soon as you add custom lyrics. Sure, it is not “live”, but you can check full lyrics nonetheless.
