Can anyone tell me if it's possible to load movies onto the apple tv 3rd gen? I am using a Windows laptop, and current itunes. I cant figure out how to do it if it's possible. I've scoured the internet trying to find information. It seems like it should be easy to do. Am I missing something? Help!!

The Apple TV 2 & 3 are both streaming devices only, you cannot load content onto it. Only the Apple TV 1 could do that.
Dude, whilst you cant "Load" movies onto it you can (Assuming they are DivX/XVid's) convert them to MP4/M4V/MOV format with a free converter like HandBrake and then import them into your iTunes library. They will then be accessible to stream from your Windows PC running iTunes using Home Sharing on the same WiFi network. You'll need to turn that on in both devices.
Whilst you can't "load movies on to an Apple TV and your correct, it's still leading this guy the wrong way. The way you load content into an Apple TV since the ATV 2 is with iTunes. You load movies into iTunes as M4V files and turn on home sharing which your Apple TV picks up.
You can also jailbreak an Apple TV 2 and play movies in just about any format using Plex or XBMC.
But... if you want a device with a hard drive in it then the Apple TV is not for you.
Yes and no. Using iTunes to "load" movies in M4V doesn't load them onto the device. It streams them from your computer to the Apple TV across the network, just like the streaming from the Internet.
I don't know know about jail breaking, so maybe there are ways to actually "load" content onto it that way.
There is and there isn't, there's ways of loading things onto an Apple TV once its jailbroken but theres not enough storage capacity for anything other than apps.
What a jailbreak really does is allows you to play more content formats and play content without being hooked up to iTunes.
