I'm trying to do two things at once:

1) Load my iTunes Media folder/library from a Time Machine backup
2) Move my iTunes Library to another drive

I've found out how to do number 2), but I don't see how it works in combination with number 1). Does anyone know of a solution?

When I move my Time Machine iTunes media folder to the place I want it to be (on the other drive), and select that folder in the Advanced iTunes Preferences, my library does not appear in iTunes.

If I create a new Library on that other drive, in the Advanced iTunes Preferences, and movie the Music inside that new media folder, it doesn't appear in iTunes either. Is there a solution at all?

I managed to get my library in the new iTunes somehow, but the sort order is not the same anymore, and can't be the same (I had them sorted by added date) because they're all marked as added today.

Is there no way to simply copy the library from my time machine backup to my new drive?!

When I go to the iTunes media folder and click the Time Machine icon, it says that connecting with the current Time Machine backup is not possible.

I think that's because it's from a different computer, with a different account, and it thinks I'm a stranger perhaps. This is all seriously messed up :)
