just checked, only 1, and it was a c2d... darn..

im waiting for all those yellow tinge returns to pop up.... looking for a i7

How much do you think the i5's and i7's will run for? I'm purchasing an iMac this summer, a long ways off I know, but I should probably assume refurb prices will be the same or no?

Edit: I'll be buying around early August, will a refreshed line be out by then?

i5 will probably be around 1700$ as the discount is usually between 12 to 15 percents and and it would be exactly 15% if it's gonna be 1699$. i7, I guess is going to be around 1850$

There will likely be an update before August though, so it's impossible to say now

Thanks for the info, I will be patiently waiting and observing in the meantime.

I wouldn't touch any of the new iMac refurbs, since we don't know...and apparently apple doesn't know, either...what is wrong with the displays.

i wouldnt touch them... yet. but at the same time.. the refurbs have the same warranty as the retail models.

Refurb is probably not a bad idea, I bet they all get a far more thorough check than the ones new off the line.

Based on the stories of a few coming through with no OS installed I might question that. Still, it's a nearly new Mac with full warranty. However with the current issues do you want someones reject?

I checked the Irish site and there is 1. Its a 27" c2d and it was only €70 lower than a new one. Was looking for an i7 which I ordered this morning. Fingers crossed XX

Ya gotta be super quick to buy anything from the refurb section, as they disappear fast! I check it many times a day (looking for Mac Mini deals) and usually a really good deal will be gone within an hour.

The mac mini's usually seem to show up with all other "newer" additions on Monday & Tuesday mornings.

Funny thing is that the refurbs are cheaper and they are probably less flawed than the new units because they are fully tested before being released onto the market.

I just checked at noon hour (EST) and there were 6 Minis (most I've ever seen at once!) in Apple Canada's refurb section, and twenty minutes later it was down to just 3. I was so tempted to pull the trigger on a 2.26ghz/2GB version for $100 off or even the more expensive 2.53ghz/4GB one for $150 off, but I know there will be more later on and money is super tight for me right now.

There is a 21.5 3.33GHz in there as well, though why you'd buy that at $1449 US over a 3.06GHz 27" C2D for the same price is beyond me.

And even though it says ships in 3-5 days, mine shipped the same day.

The $999 entry-level 21.5 iMac is a very good deal.
