Hello,

Does anybody have an idea, how to transfer my whole mails including the local folders from one Sierra Mac to another one without Migration Assistant? Having tryed it by moving from the following list the ones I found:

Library/...

.../Mail (folder)

.../Mail Downloads (folder)

.../Containers/com.apple.mail (folder)

.../Preferences/com.apple.accounts.plist (file)

.../Preferences/com.apple.accountsd.plist (file)

.../Preferences/com.apple.mail-shared.plist (file)

.../Preferences/com.apple.MailMigratorService.plist (file)

.../SyncedPreferences/com.apple.mail-com.apple.mail.vipsenders.plist (file)

.../SyncedPreferences/com.apple.mail.plist (file)

The accounts were synched before by icloud Keychain.

Result is that IMAP works, intelligent folders are there but all the local folders where I moved mails in are not visible.

Alle help would be highly appreciated!

This one was used back in Snow Leopard. No longer used.

It's best to to start clean rather than upgrade to the latest Sierra Mail. If your accounts are IMAP it's as simple as adding the account in System Preferences > Internet Accounts. If you have POP mail, you need to export your data before upgrading using Mail's Export Mailbox.... If you have lots of folders under "On My Mac", I find it easier to use Emailchemy to export the data as .mbox file. You will import into the new Sierra Mail.

Your local folders are in V2 or V3 in the Mailboxes folder. You could try importing these, but sometimes the import turns out in funky layout.

Emailchemy $29.95

I export each individual local folder as mbox to desktop and then import in the other build.

It is important to unnest them first (although I notice there is now an advanced option to export nested folders too).
