Hi Mail users, This program continues to amaze me with it's quirks. The Problem: While rereading a letter in my 'Sent' file, I unwisely decided to edit it to remove a large gap inbetween 2 sentences. whenI pressed the delete key, the whole letter disappeared. I patiently looked in every other folder I had saved letters in, to no avail. I cant find it. Can you help? thanks, Chrisman9

Have you looked in the Trash? Try using Search.

What happened, however, is "expected behavior." You can't edit email messages (whether sent, or incoming) - they're supposed to be an accurate record of correspondence. You have to copy the text in some way, and edit the copy. That might mean Forwarding or Replying, and editing the new compose mail item created when you do that.

Dear ApfelKuchen, Thanks for your reply and advising how to edit next time. I have used Search in Trash, and it's not there, nor in ANY of my folders of saved email letters. Any other ideas as to where to look. I refuse to believe that one errant key stroke has obliterated the letter. Thanks. Chrisman9
