I downloaded iOS5 on my iPhone 4 a few days ago, and I've been trying to use Reminders. I had it set to remind me to text my parents when I arrived at school and left school.
I double-checked whether or not Reminders had permission to use location services, it hadn't. So I enabled it. But it still hasn't worked. I receive no reminder of any sort. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone walk me through the process?

Do you have the correct address for your school? The app constantly uses location services to track your location. Make sure that arrow is visible near the battery when you set the reminder.

mine isn't working either. It seems to work when I set a reminder for my current location, but not when I plug in an address from my contacts.

did some more testing with it. Seems to work if you open up the map and let it hone in on your location. This is going to be useless if I have to refresh my location on the map constantly. If I am remembering to do that, chances are I am remembering the thing that I want to be reminded of.

i also can't get it to work, tried a "remind me to go to the store when I leave" and expected to get a reminder when I'd left my apartment. Even when I was miles away, it never popped up. I did see the reminder was set, along with a location tag. So it should have worked... at least i'm not the only one having probs with it, must be a software issue.

Only time I've been able to get it to work is when its able to connect to WIFI ( i.e., home ).

Yeah, location services is a dud for me on the 4S as well. It constantly tracked my location (with the location arrow), and failed to notify me when I left the place or arrived at the destination on multiple tries. The only work around and pseudo-solution I saw was turning wifi on (but not connecting to). This seems to work much better, as I would get half of the location reminders to work. But otherwise, it's really buggy.

And having the constant location tracking on annoys and creeps me out.

On the plus side, it was not a battery drainer. But then again... it didn't really work.

i have wifi on at home and that hasn't helped it be aware when I left home to give me the intended "when i leave home" reminder. Don't see why wifi would have anything to do with it.

Mine in not working

It only works with time based reminders. I have both, home and office locations and neither of them fires up Reminders. Both addresses are my Address Book. Looks to me like this is a bug from Apple. Does any one has the link to report this to Apple?

It worked for me last night when I got near my house just like it was suppose to do. I was on AT&T 3G service at the time, as it alerted me as I got near my house and I doubt it would have picked up my home wi-fi by then. I'll try some more and see if it's consistent. Using an iphone 4 that upgraded to iOS 5.
