Hello guys

I have recently noticed that my iphone thinks i live in another city. In the Facebook app the weather listed for my Location is of another city and in the instagram app the location hashtag in the explore tab is also of another city (same as the Facebook one). How can i reset my location to the current one? I have disabled and re enabled Location Services in settings and hard reseted my phone but the problem persists...

Any ideas?

Since Maps and find Find My iPhone show my correct location i guess i should consider this a Facebook/Instagram (same company) issue?

Could be Facebook/Instagram issue.

Probably (maybe?) not applicable (more PC), but, for example, there are various databases out there that are used for pseudo location tracking. Eg, one's home wifi access point gets tagged at certain location, they move to new location, but now when accessing their wifi, the web service still says old location.

Along those lines, ip address mapping. Databases of which ip addresses are allocated to who (internet provider) and where. One particular site I go to thinks I'm in northern CA when not.

One or both services have a default location setting in their Preferences? Been a long time since I've been in Facebook, so, WAG on that and might be feeding between the two.

Definitely a Fb issue. I have tried using Cellular instead of WiFi and still have the same issue! Since there is no way to contact Fb (only help menus exist on their help section) i am just going to ignore it! Thought maybe you could re calibrate your location but its all done automatically through them.
